Asana Lab

Module 01

Asana Lab

In person · 40 hours · Summer 2026

The physical practice, studied in full. Asana Lab is a 40-hour deep dive into the poses themselves — how they work, why they work, what they demand of the body, and what to look for when you're teaching or practicing. We tackle alignment, Sanskrit, the muscles involved, energetics, and the common tendencies that show up in students and in ourselves. You'll leave with a grounded, embodied knowledge of the physical practice that goes far beyond what most YTTs cover.

What We Cover
Alignment principles across all pose families
Sanskrit names and their meaning
Primary muscles engaged per pose
Energetic properties and intentions
In-person demos and hands-on exploration
Common student tendencies and mistakes
Modifications and contraindications
What to look for when observing students
Props and how to use them effectively
100+ poses covered in full
This module is for anyone who wants to go deeper into the physical practice — whether you're curious about teaching one day, a dedicated practitioner who wants to truly understand the poses, or someone not yet ready to commit to a full YTT.

Whether you teach or simply practice, this module changes how you experience the mat.

Pranayama practices
Meditation techniques
Energetics of asana
